Touch Things I Don't Feel by UnicyclistJoe Touch Things I Don't Feel by UnicyclistJoe
Lying on my back, looking up into the trees, this shot came to me. I loved the way the sun was shining through the trees, and especially how rich and vibrant it made the colours. it was a good day

Daily Deviation

Given 2005-05-02

Lying on my back, looking up into the trees, Touch Things I Don't Feel by =UnicyclistJoe is what I saw. The golden rays of light falling upon, falling through, falling with the green leaves of a tree softly upon the ground around me was a relaxing break from the daily grind, and the dreary days of the winter past.

The sun is coming. Enjoy it while you can.

Wow, the comments on this deviation are absolutely appalling. I'm sorry you have to put up with such asshats.

I love this photo - I think the composition is amazing, the strength of the limbs of the tree crawling through the frame like veins, the colors of the leaves and the fantastic way you can see the smaller leaves in the background.. it's a very stunning photo. I've often had moments like these where I'll look up into the trees and be completely starstruck by the power and beauty of the sun flowing through the leaves. It leaves me taking a long breath.

Yummy greens! *sparkles in his eyes*

they look like aspens...or cottonwoods... lovely trembly leaves in a wind and drippy sweet in sunshines.

Nice pic,

green

OMG, how is this a Daily Deviation...what are those people thinking...it's just leaves I mean, where is the technical wonderment and who is this unicyclistjoe, never heard of him before... ;)

Hey dude, congratulations man! Gosh, you've surpassed my pageview and received a daily dev <sniffles> And this is from February...well, that's what I get for being so damn inactive this year huh!

Okay, the photo, yes very vibrant and evocative of warm days and summer <sigh>. It's certainly not summer anymore :( It doesn't really appeal to me, but who said you had to satisfy everyone!

love lying on my back looking up on warm sunny days, love the photograph, love the colors--that it's really just different tints of green, and love that i think it's named after one of my most favoritest songs ever by the goo goo dolls. well done.

So instead of sending the person who featured it a note, you're going to harass the deviant who was featured?

From a technical aspect, its a pretty decent capture of a relaxing time spent underneath a tree. However, the whole Idea I was going for here was that folks shouldn't be spending all of their time in front of the glow of a monitor, but instead enjoying a scene like this. Ths is why that last line in the writeup is there:

"The sun is coming. Enjoy it while you can."

The greens happens to be an added bonus for me, as I drew a parallel between life in a digital green world (dA) and life in the natural world (with plants and of course trees with green leaves and such).

The image here captured a memory that I enjoyed greatly, and embodies an idea that I've long since stood for, being that one should get out and enjoy the natural world. I took a line from his description to include in the writeup too, as that also (in a roundabout way) describes why I like this piece. He went out, and enjoyed nature instead of being cooped up somewhere infront of a computer screen all day.

However, instead of possibly thinking about that or asking me for clarification, people have just decided to get all nasty at this guy, who had nothing to do with being featured past submitting a deviation that I liked. In hindsight, I could have made the writeup a little more clearer, but even so, people's behavior (as usual, it seems) has been shameful.

stop to think im "nasty" to this guy, i just said the shot isn't intresting for me, im not judging him
now if you really enjoyed this photo, okay, its your taste, and i see its the same for a lot of people on da...
but if this photo reminds you a great day you passed, why don't you just faved it, instead of put it in a daily dev?

a daily dev have to be more interesting technicaly etc

:iconsapphiretiger:

The idea instead was that you decided to question the DD feature directly to him on the deviation instead of sending a note to the person who featured it. Once again, he had nothing to do with the choice past submitting a deviation.

"a daily dev have to be more interesting technicaly etc"

...and this is where I point to the FAQ, which explains exactly what a DD is. Frankly you've been nothing but rude and a bit arrogant, so I'll end this here.

It would have been better with a different composition... closer to be less cluttered, and perhaps at a more interesting angle. But the vibrant colours are pretty good...
